Scene 030

ChiefWell, if it isn't Isaac!

ChiefThe whole village is buzzing with gossip about something going on out in the woods.

ChiefI'm just glad to see you back safe. We were all worried that something nasty had happened!

ChiefI should have known that your Grandma could take care of you both!

ChiefShe's quite a lady, isn't she?

IsaacOh, Grandma...

ChiefWhat's wrong?

Isaac......

ChiefAre you OK? You're as pale as a ghost...

ChiefIsaac!

Chief...I see. So that's what happened. She gave her life to save you two...

TristaYes.

TristaThe Sage of the Woods placed all her faith in us... in him.

Chief......

ChiefI don't know much about magic... But it sounds like quite a heavy burden for one so young.

TristaIt is.

ChiefI don't know if I can be of much use...

ChiefBut if he wants to, once his job is done, tell him there'll always be a place for him here.

ChiefThat's about all I can do for him, I think. Promise him a place to come back to...

TristaChief...

ChiefYou must be worn out.

ChiefYou'd better take it easy today, at least.

TristaThank you, Chief.
